Jessica,
I was given your information thru a friend of Carlene who’s dress you just recently made. While I was looking through your blog I realized you have made dresses for 4 people I know! Seriously! Meegan, Katrina, Mary Beth and Leanna. Are you from the MA area? I’m from Newport Rhode Island. Anyways- on to the wedding dress hunt. There is a dress I found online that I LOVE (Jim Hjelm Blush style 1205 http://www.jlmcouture.com/Jim-Hjelm-Blush/Bridal/Spring/2012/Style-1205). I’m going to be getting married next fall.. we haven’t quite set a date yet. No stores here in Utah carry the dress or the designer that I found online- so when I go home to RI for Thanksgiving we are going to a shop to try it on. Only problem is- I would have to order it and then probably do major alterations (I’m only 5’1 AND a medication I was just taken off of made me gain 15 lbs in 6 months and I’m currently working that off). So my thoughts right now are to try it on to make sure the silhouette looks good on me and then possibly have something very similar made.
My mom obviously wants to be a big part of the dress hunt, so she is flying out here in January to do wedding things with me. I’m hoping to maybe have some type of idea ready by that point. We are hoping to stay under $2000 and possibly more around $1500. For that kind of dress- would that be do-able? What would be the time frame to make it? Sorry for the novel! Hope to hear from you soon.
